Every Spike Lee Movie Ranked Worst To Best

8. Da 5 Bloods (2020)

Do The Right Thing
Netflix

Spike Lee's most recent film debuted on Netflix last year, and follows a group of troubled war vets who head back to Vietnam in search of lost gold.

Relentlessly action-packed and viciously heart-wrenching, Da 5 Bloods finds Lee working without a filter, directing half a dozen films at once to craft one epic tale of brotherhood, trauma, war, politics and memory that is violently messy but utterly captivating at every turn.

Grounded by a series of commanding performances - particularly from the late Chadwick Boseman and a royally Oscar-snubbed Delroy Lindo - Da 5 Bloods is endearing in its energy and commendable in its complexities.

Though some were put off by its runtime and constant tone-switches, it's without a doubt a instant cult favourite, and proof that Lee has yet to run out of things to say and stories to tell.
