Every Stan Lee Cameo Ranked From Worst To Best
8. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
Again proving that inexplicably casting Lee as a pensioner security guard doesn't deny a great cameo, he appears at the end of Cap's second solo outing as a guard at the Smithsonian Institution.
He realises that someone has stolen Cap's iconic World War II uniform - that'd be Cap, obviously - and promptly exclaims to himself, "Oh man, I am so fired."
On one hand it sucks that Cap effectively lost this poor soul his job - because if he still needs to seek employment at age 90-something, his situation must be pretty dire - but Lee's downtrodden delivery is hilarious regardless.
7. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
While the core gag here is actually incredibly basic and juvenile - with Stan Lee's FedEx delivery man misreading Tony Stark's name as "Tony Stank" - it's a scene loaded with much more meaning given the history between Lee and Stark throughout the MCU.
After being possibly-mistaken for celebrities in the first two Iron Man movies, Lee gets to have his revenge by straight-up trolling Tony, even if it can be readily dismissed as him needing an opticians appointment.
What really makes it is Stark's legitimately exasperated reaction, while Rhodey (Don Cheadle) creases up laughing. This is terrific proof of how a fairly simple piece of scripted comedy can be elevated significantly by both performance and context.
