Every Stan Lee Cameo Ranked From Worst To Best
6. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)
X-Men: Apocalypse has been mostly forgotten barely two years after it hit cinemas, though one of its more memorable sequences involves Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) launching the world's global nuclear arsenal into space, complete with a Lee cameo in the bargain.
Firstly, this cameo isn't funny at all, and shows Lee staring up in shock as the missiles fly out of the atmosphere, their ascent gorgeously reflected in his sunglasses.
The real reason this one ranks so highly, though, is the poignant addition of Lee's wife Joan, who embraces Lee during the cameo and sadly passed away last summer.
Some might argue that Lee's presence detracts from the scene's solemnity, but somewhat ironically, it's one of his few comic book cameos that's actually not distracting or overbaked at all.
5. Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Arguably the worst Spider-Man movie ends up with the best Lee cameo of the lot, as he crosses paths with Peter Parker in Times Square while the pair read a series of news bulletins about Spider-Man's good work.
Lee then turns to Peter and says, "You know, I guess one person can make a difference. 'Nuff said."
It's a wonderfully earnest little moment that's heartfelt without being cheesy, and shot through with a level of honest conviction that Daniel Day-Lewis himself probably couldn't even top.
In a movie loaded with bad judgement calls and ill-aged visual effects, this simple, human moment effortlessly wins out.
