Every Stan Lee Cameo Ranked From Worst To Best
32. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
It's rather apt that Brett Ratner's widely-maligned X-Men threequel has a suitably workmanlike Stan Lee cameo to match.
In the movie's early flashback sequence, just as a young Jean Grey makes an epic display of telekinesis, we cut to Lee as an old man who watches in amazement as the water emerging from his hose defies gravity.
The only remotely remarkable thing here is that Lee is also accompanied by legendary X-Men comics writer Chris Claremont, who appears in the previous shot as a man whose lawnmower takes off into the sky.
31. X-Men (2000)
Though Lee doesn't actually say or do much of anything in this cameo, we'll give it points for its relative subtlety, and for the vaguely amusing casting of Lee as a stunned hot dog vendor who witnesses a recently mutated - and very, very naked - Senator Kelly (Bruce Davison) washing up on the shore of the beach where he's working.
Given that more casual comic book fans possibly didn't even know what Lee looked like back in 2000, this one was easily missed at the time, and even today, it impressively doesn't distract from the movie at all.
Not particularly clever or inventive, but considering it was basically the cameo that started the trend in a major way, it's undeniably important.
