Every Stan Lee Cameo Ranked From Worst To Best
24. Fantastic Four (2005)
While the overwhelming majority of Lee's cameos see him playing a random geriatric, it's pretty neat that his appearance in 2005's Fantastic Four casts him as an actual comic book character he himself created.
Lee plays the Fantastic Four's mailman Willie Lumpkin, appearing for a few seconds to deliver some mail to Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffud) in the lobby of the Baxter Building.
It's simple and surprisingly not funny at all, but the novelty of seeing Lee play one of his own creations for the first time speaks for itself. His best Fantastic Four cameo, however, was still to come.
23. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
The "person is oblivious to mayhem occurring behind them" gag is so painfully overdone, but it somehow manages to feel a little fresher with Stan the Man being the butt of the gag.
In the Spider-Man reboot nobody asked for, Spidey and The Lizard (Rhys Ifans) battle their way into Midtown Science High School's library, where Lee's librarian is completely oblivious to the carnage around him while listening to classical music.
It's more technically impressive than funny with the slick integration of Lee's performance and the CGI battle in the background, but it's a clever spin on a tired trope all the same.
