1. Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
The prototypical darker, better sequel, Empire brings so much more depth and scope to the series, with an opening sequence set on ice planet Hoth (featuring the AT-ATs), the unforgettable introduction to Yoda, and of course, the shocking Luke-Vader showdown.
It outdoes the original movie in basically every way that a sequel can, and stands alongside Terminator 2 as surely one of the greatest sequels of all time.
Best Moment: It's extremely difficult to pick just one scene, but the reveal of Luke's parentage is just too damn iconic to ignore.
Worst Moment: The incestuous kiss between Luke and Leia is pretty weird, but honestly, we're just grasping to find something to complain about here.
