Every Stephen King Movie Ranked Worst To Best

29. Mr Harrigan's Phone (2022)

Stephen King Movies Ranked
Netflix

Mr Harrigan's Phone, a Netflix movie based on a recent novella of the same name, is classic King. Its star Jaeden Martell plays an outcast who befriends an old man (Donald Sutherland on top, creepy form) who dies and starts contacting the boy from beyond the grave with a phone he was buried with.

The first half of John Lee Hancock's horror flick makes for a tantalising slow burn with a touching coming-of-age edge, but once Sutherland is out of the picture and the bodies start piling up, it loses steam and slips into the overly sentimental and twist-driven, leading to an emotionally unconvincing finale.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
