Every Stephen King Movie Ranked Worst To Best

28. The Dark Half (1993)

Stephen King Movies Ranked
MGM

In Stephen King's world, there's nothing more inherently terrifying than being a writer. The Dark Half is the author's most explicit exploration of this theme, following a writer who stops using his pen name only to find his alter ego has become violently real.

A ridiculous premise that George A. Romero at least directs with some urgency, The Dark Half is grainy and honestly only has the one trick up its sleeve, meaning it becomes quite monotonous as it jumps through its twists. Still, you'll be hard-pressed not to admire the work of star Timothy Hutton, who relishes the opportunity to play a man haunted by his own creation.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
