Every Steven Soderbergh Movie Ranked Worst To Best

4. Che (2008)

Oceans Eleven
IFC Films

Che - released in two parts but best watched as the epic, five-hour biopic Soderbergh intended - is a film we're never likely to see from Steven Soderbergh ever again.

Charting the rise and fall of Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara, from his time by the side of Fidel Castro to his days recruiting followers in the Bolivian mountains, Che features Benicio del Toro in his most commanding role to date, and some of the most arresting cinematography Soderbergh has ever produced.

Epic in scale, length and themes, Che took its toll on the director thanks to its gruelling shoot and massive workload, but with its frighteningly good performances, historical accuracy and Soderbergh's assured direction, it's fair to say it was worth the hassle in the long run.

Aidan Whatman hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
