Every Movie Trailer From Super Bowl 50 Ranked From Worst To Best

3. 10 Cloverfield Lane

I'm still riding that "There's going to be another Cloverfield and it's out in a month and they kept is a secret for ages" high, despite the distinct possibility that 10 Cloverfield Lane may just end up being a hostage thriller that had a monster tacked-on in rewrites. Although even if it is just a retroactive sequel, the base movie - Mary Elizabeth Winstead is trapped by John Goodman to save her from some outside threat - looks exciting enough as it is. The Super Bowl ad provides a lot more plot details, showing how Winstead wound up trapped and presenting life in the vault a much more fraught experience than the mundanity of the original teaser. For those looking for clues, there's an awful lot in here - some shots appear to be outside in daylight and Winstead is wearing some makeshift outfit at the end - but on a pure, teasing level this one hits the spot. But it's that ending that really kicks this one into overdrive. Winstead escapes (and we still don't know the state of the world she walks out looks like) and a bright light draws closer behind the house as a rumbling scream grows ever louder. Is that the Cloverfield monster's roar? Sure sounds like it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhdJkFH7K38
