Every Movie Trailer From Super Bowl 50 Ranked From Worst To Best
4. X-Men Apocalypse
Forget Dawn Of Justice and Civil War; my 2016 pick for "most anticipated superheroes punching each other" extravaganza is X-Men: Apocalypse. The franchise is back on a high, Bryan Singer has returned to direct and the whole thing looks incredibly awesome. We've only had the one trailer thus far and excitingly this Super Bowl ad is made up of mostly new footage, including a better look at the mass destruction En Sabah Nur will unleash (although I am sceptical how they'll fix this without resorting some hokey time travel excuse) and some intense action shots, including Olivia Munn in action as Psylocke. But, best of all, there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment that shows the best-looking slight of Oscar Isaac beneath the Apocalypse make-up - can not wait for him. It sadly does steer into that tired "slow-paced, haunting cover versions of songs scoring movie trailers" trope, but while Don't Panic doesn't add anything to the trailer itself (I never got using a song when the words wind up almost incomprehensible), it is at least a Coldplay song, so is most likely there to tie into the band's half-time show. Fair enough, right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnu06cIUpMs
