Every Superhero Movie This Decade Ranked - Worst To Best
25. Doctor Strange (2016)
Though it got a little flak for introducing yet another well-off, white genius superhero to the MCU, Doctor Strange is nevertheless bolstered by an entertaining Benedict Cumberbatch, one of the best supporting casts for any solo movie (especially Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor) and an abundance of eye-popping, kaleidoscopic visual effects sequences.
What it lacks in uniqueness as an origin story it more-than compensates with the MCU's trippiest visuals to date, Mads Mikkelsen's amusing (if underdeveloped) villain, and a deft mix of bombast and goofy humour.
While not among the very strongest debuts for an Avenger, it nevertheless hit the marks it needed to, and brought magic and mysticism to the MCU in neatly intriguing fashion.
