Every Superhero Movie This Decade Ranked - Worst To Best
18. X-Men: First Class (2011)
Considering that X-Men: First Class was released just 9 months after shooting began, it's really quite incredible that the end product is so coherent and entertaining.
It's not perfect, sure - the visual effects are often poor, the make-up is frequently laughable and Emma Frost (January Jones) sucks - but director Matthew Vaughn gives the younger iterations of the X-Men a largely spectacular introduction, thanks to strong performances and a surprisingly thoughtful period premise.
Coming as quite the relief for X-Men fans in 2011 following the release of X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, First Class saw the franchise injected with renewed vigour, even if that rejuvenation was sadly pretty short-lived.
