Every Superhero Movie This Decade Ranked - Worst To Best

Josh Trank's found footage superhero flick managed to take two well-worn genres and combine them to create something extremely fresh, with this surprisingly nuanced, stylish and superbly acted origin story.

Making incredibly impressive use of its mere $12 million budget, the movie throws every single cent on the screen while bringing Dane DeHaan and Michael B. Jordan to prominence with their highest-profile roles up to this point.

A clever melding of coming-of-age high school movie, superhero catastrophe and found footage thriller, Chronicle surpassed most all expectations and seemingly earmarked Trank and writer Max Landis for bigger, greater things (oops).

Despite a sequel being fast-tracked into development, it still hasn't happened, and probably never will at this point.
