4. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Were there any justice in the world, The Sarah Connor Chronicles would have lived on for more than 2 seasons. But in the end, despite massive fan efforts, the show was cancelled before it ever got to live to its full potential.

Still, as spin-offs of major blockbuster franchises go, it's right up there and it remains an entertaining sci-fi show anchored by an excellent lead performance by Lena Headey and Summer Glau as Cameron, who is easily one of the franchise's favourite Terminators.

As is the case with the entire franchise, the show struggles when it attempts to explain too much - mostly because it's a thankless task - but put that aside and there's an entertaining, glossy show that deserved way more than premature cancellation.
