Every Tom Cruise Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

31. All The Right Moves (1983)

Tom Cruise Interview With The Vampire
20th Century Fox

An early stand-out performance from Cruise is the only thing that stops All the Right Moves feeling like a complete loss, starring as a disillusioned sports prodigy who can't wait to escape from his small town with a major scholarship.

Cruise anchors the sports drama with a subtle vulnerability he's rarely displayed before or since, and he makes sure the audience is on his side every step of the way.

The only thing holding the film back from greatness is the execution of the story, which is about as cliched, overly-sentimental and low-stakes as you can get.
