Every Tom Cruise Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

29. Jack Reacher (2012)

Tom Cruise Interview With The Vampire
Paramount Pictures

Despite being woefully miscast as a 6'5, 250 pound soldier, Cruise manages to bring his own style and grit to Lee Child's famous literary figure, in a film that's actually much better than you might recall.

Cruise plays Reacher as haunted, confident and mysterious, and director Christopher McQuarrie (who would go on to work with Cruise in the latest Mission Impossible's) wrings a solid amount of tension and uncertainty from the film's central mystery.

Yes, there are issues with Cruise's casting, and the villains - as well as the final act, where everything just seems to...end - are seriously one-note, Jack Reacher still makes for a decent Saturday night movie.
