Every Tom Cruise Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

27. Legend (1985)

Tom Cruise Interview With The Vampire
20th Century Fox

It's easy to love Ridley Scott's eccentric high fantasy classic Legend. It's charming, nostalgic and sports a performance unlike any other from the legendary Tim Curry, and it's one of the many early-to-mid-80s films that helped cement Tom Cruise as a bona fide star.

Though it's fair to say Cruise isn't able to hold a candle to his more experienced co-stars (Curry and Mia Sara among them), there's nonetheless a certain amount of innocent charm and likability in his performance that keeps him from falling completely flat.

All told, Legend is a strange, silly, over-the-top but lovable little film, and an important stepping stone in Cruise's intriguing career.
