Every Tom Cruise Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

21. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)

Tom Cruise Interview With The Vampire
Paramount Pictures

Compared to other Mission Impossible instalments, Rogue Nation feels decidedly safe. The stakes feel low, even though Sean Harris' villain is as sinister as they come, and its rogue-agent-makes-Hunt-run arc makes for predictable viewing.

But this is still late-era Mission Impossible, meaning that its simple storyline is backed up by the sheer insanity of watching Cruise move from stunt to stunt with relentless energy.

Rogue Nation is an entertaining affair that pulls no punches from an action standpoint - especially when it brings in Rebecca Ferguson's MI6 agent Ilsa Faust - and though its story wavers, it's still a daring highpoint in Cruise's tenure as a leading Hollywood action star.
