Every Tom Cruise Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

12. Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)

Tom Cruise Interview With The Vampire
Paramount Pictures

Just edging out the 1996 original, Mission: Impossible - Fallout currently stands as the best instalment of the franchise, directed by Christopher McQuarrie with an intense desire to one-up everything the previous movies had ever done.

And what an exercise in relentless action it is, pitting Cruise against the immovable object of Henry Cavill's deceptive villain whilst offering up a stunning HALO jump sequence, the best foot chase of the franchise, and a final showdown that threatens to jump the shark but ends the film on a high-note unlike any other.

Cruise here is at his most innovative, challenging and passionate, wanting to give the best Hunt adventure possible whilst pushing himself to the breaking point to make it happen. Simply put, it was time and energy well spent.
