The House

Evil has returned in this latest story in the Exorcist franchise. A demonic portal has been opened in Haiti, whilst in the USA two girls return home with no memory of what happened to them when they went missing. The trouble is, the girls have not come back alone.

The Verdict

Universal Creative described this house as a living trailer for the new movie and that was the most accurate way to describe it.

In the build up to HHN32 this featured low on our hype list. With the maze being based on a movie that was not yet released, we were concerned that this house might feel lacking. We were so wrong to be concerned.

The Exorcist: Believer was the scariest house of the evening. The girls were around every corner and evil stalked your every move, it was almost unrelenting.

The scenes were clear and the storyline easy to follow. As long as you have a very basic knowledge of the key moments from original movie you will understand what is going in.

The sets in this house were detailed and it was by far the smelliest house at this year's event.

Almost every member of our group proclaimed this house to be their favourite of the night, with one HHN fan calling it the scariest house they had ever experienced. The only people who said it wasn't their favourite did so because they found it TOO scary. What a compliment to the finest house of this year's excellent HHN offering.

Final Thoughts

With Halloween Horror Nights, Universal dares you to become fully immersed in their beautiful and twisted houses. This year was no exception, with Universal Orlando Resort building 10 houses that are full of massive sets, horrifying monsters and killers stalking your every move.

We were blown away by the quality of HHN32. There were tiniest features in the costumes, passion of the scare actors and extreme details that go into each house was incredible.

HHN fans were treated throughout the event with call backs to past events like Jack the Clown and of course the HHN Bear.

This year it was a genuine struggle to rank the houses that Universal created. Where these houses rank in our list might be different to how you view them. We've seen numerous fans rank Dueling Dragons: Choose Thy Fate as their top house due to their nostalgia for the ride.

That's the beauty of HHN, whatever kind of horror you love, there's a house for you.
