5. The Last Of Us
The House
Naughty Dog’s post apocalyptic video game comes to HHN32, taking you into a world where a fungal virus has infected mankind. Survivors Joel and Ellie take a journey through the Pittsburgh Quarantine Zone going into contact with the infected. Runners, Stalkers and Clickers all will be around the corner as you enter the Hotel and dark tunnels; along with “hostile” Hunters.
The Verdict
We were extremely excited to experience The Last of Us and it lived up to a lot of what we were anticipating.
The house had big sets that took you right into the mood of the game. Fans of The Last of Us will instantly recognise the locations and you'll be transported right inside the tension. You even hear the original Ellie and Joel speaking as the cast of the game recorded new lines especially for the house.
Each of the infected's costumes were intricately detailed and very life-like. Looking back at footage we took, there were definitely plenty of infected there to scare you along with Hunters.
Our only criticism of the maze was there wasn't as much Joel and Ellie as we hoped, which caused the house to lack a little bit of story. Those who are totally new to the franchise might feel like they were dropped into a random post-apocalyptic world. Fans of the game and the tv show will understand what is happening, so this will probably not impact their experience.
Even if you were a complete The Last of Us newbie, the amazingly detailed post-apocalyptic world created in this maze certainly makes it a house worth spending time it.
