Although it's the third entry into one of the MCU's biggest and best franchises, excitement for Guardians Vol 3 feels extremely muted after the James Gunn debacle.

Gunn's script might still be being used, but it still won't feel the same without his directorial flair or personal touches, and on top of that there's now a sour taste around the project, with a sense the actors themselves won't want to be there (not even a sense for Dave Bautista, who REALLY doesn't want to be there).

It's unlikely to arrive until 2022 at the earliest (production has been pushed back to 2021), so while they could still pull it off, this one feels tainted right now.
