After Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull disappointed so many and rumours quickly began to swirl that Disney were more interested in recasting Indy and going forward with prequels rather than sequels, the chance of a fifth Indy in the same timeline seemed limited.

But now, Disney have realised that there's still something left in Harrison Ford's tank after Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Blade Runner 2049, and they're pushing ahead with what is probably his last outing. It's fitting then that Spielberg, Ford and John Williams are returning, and there is something to be said for George Lucas' honorary position as an executive producer too.

As long as he's not making any story suggestions, eh?

Could this be used as a chance to pass on the mantle (please let it be to Chris Pratt, if it has to be anyone)? Or will Disney use this film to kill Indy off and reset to an earlier point in the franchise for future movies? Anything that further advances the brand is not a bad idea.
