Every Will Smith Movie Ranked Worst To Best

18. Made In America (1993)

King Richard
New Line Cinema

Only Smith's second feature film, Made In America hasn't aged particularly well and by today's standards barely passes for a comedy, but there's still something oddly attractive about the whole thing, and a lot of that charm comes from Smith.

The story of a young Black woman who learns her father is Ted Danson, the film is as gimmicky and questionable as it sounds, but has a secret weapon in Smith's hysterical turn as its scene-stealing comic relief.

He wouldn't do character work like this ever again, but his commitment to the material makes you wonder where he would've ended up had he stuck to these types of roles. He steals the show, and makes it look easy even this early in his career.
