Every Will Smith Movie Ranked Worst To Best

28. Suicide Squad (2016)

King Richard
Warner Bros. Pictures

Credit where it's due: Alongside Margot Robbie and Viola Davis, Smith is one of the few things worth sticking around for in Suicide Squad.

Though far removed from the Deadshot comic fans know and love, Smith's easy charisma and star power make him at least semi-bearable in the role, though the rest of the film falls under the weight of its intentions with generic action, a too-gloomy aesthetic, and a story that refuses to settle on a tone.

Far too serious and melodramatic in its predictability, the only good thing to really come from this superhero bomb is that James Gunn made a genuinely great Suicide Squad movie some five years later, saving its premise for a filmmaker with vision.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
