Every Year In The MCU Ranked Worst To Best

What all started in 2008 with Iron Man came to a close in 2019 with the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the last three in the Infinity Saga. All three movies smashed the one billion dollar mark at the box office, making it one of the most lucrative years at least for Marvel Studios.

In terms of fan response however, it was slightly more mixed. With expectations through the roof going in, many fans felt let down by the middle of the road MCU outing that was Captain Marvel.

Yet, what followed this disappointment was the most anticipated movie since Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame knocked every single expectation out of the park. This was the exclamation mark on the Infinity Saga, and it truly lived up to everything that came before it, becoming the highest grossing movie of all time.

Any movie that had to follow this would have struggled, however coming back down to Earth with the (relatively) grounded Spider-Man: Far From Home was the best move Marvel could make. This movie took MCU fans by the hand to guide them into a world without Tony Stark going forward, while Spider-Man solidified himself as a top tier MCU hero. Even in spite of a slow start, these two movies made 2019 a huge one for MCU fans.
