Every Zack Snyder Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Zack Snyder's Justice League
Surely the most pleasantly surprising film of 2021 so far, Zack Snyder's four-hour Justice League could so easily have been a colossal, embarrassing mess, and yet, the end result is surprisingly rather good indeed.
Perhaps better viewed as a mini-series project rather than a traditional movie - it's even helpfully chunked into chapters - Zack Snyder's Justice League does justice to the filmmaker's barmy original vision by restoring literally hours of cut material.
Above all else, the film vindicates Snyder's claim that the Whedon Cut was a far cry from his own vision, reintegrating crucial character development for numerous characters - most of all Cyborg (Ray Fisher) - telling a more worthwhile story, and delivering some deliriously entertaining action.
It's excessive, messy, and full of unconvincing CGI, yes, but it is nothing if not a film made by an artist with a distinct vision, rather than the soulless, committee-produced mess that was the Whedon Cut.
