9. Adam Warlock Will Battle Drax - Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
The killer new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 offered up another stellar glimpse of what looks set to be quite the emotional farewell to the Guardians in their apparently final MCU outing - at least as a full team, anyway.
Beyond revealing that the alt-version of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña) will indeed be sticking around for the movie proper, and showing a fleeting glimpse of Rocket (Bradley Cooper) being experimented upon, the big takeaway here is surely the tiny sliver of Drax (Dave Bautista) tussling with Adam Warlock (Will Poulter).
It's only visible for about a hot second (at the 1:29 mark), but seems to confirm beyond any doubt that the Guardians will be coming into conflict with the Sovereign-created artificial being.
Given that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set up the Sovereign creating Adam to take on the Guardians, it certainly tracks, even if one can assume that Adam will eventually help the Guardians take down the movie's real Big Bad, the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).
The shot of Adam and Drax fighting is a bit weird, though: for some reason Drax appears to be 100% CGI. Does he perhaps undergo some sort of temporary physical transformation in the film? We'll have to wait and see.
