Evil Dead Remake: 15 Talking Points In The New Red Band Trailer

14. The Cabin

Nowadays the €˜Cabin in the Woods€™ is a classic staple of horror. Arguably, Sam Raimi€™s original Evil Dead movies (numbers 1 and 2 to be specific) are one of the very reasons why. I€™ve been seeing people across the internet drawing comparisons from this new Evil Dead trailer to Joss Whedon€™s recent Cabin in the Woods. Let me just say, this is bordering on sacrilege. The entire premise of Cabin in the Woods was almost a direct love letter to Sam Raimi, to the Evil Dead, a way of asking €˜what if there was some greater reason for the Evil Dead movies and those of its ilk, some underlying conspiracy at the heart of which was something much more human€™. It€™s no surprise to see The Cabin as one of the opening images in this new trailer. After all, this is really what we first think of when we remember back to the original movies. Sure now it€™s a dated image, but somehow knowing that within it lurks the promise of a brand new Evil Dead experience makes it suddenly seem like a sight for sore eyes.
