Evil Dead Remake: 15 Talking Points In The New Red Band Trailer

8. Bridge Out

There€™s always the temptation, when watching a horror movie, to shout €œwhy don€™t you just turn around and leave!€ Raimi addressed this problem in the original movies by having the bridge they used to get to the cabin destroyed by the deadites, or by whatever malevolent force it is that they serve. Above you can glimpse that shot very recreated almost note for note (with a few tweaks and enhancements of course, thanks to the greatly increased budget). This new trailer really is a smorgasbord for returning Evil Dead fans; it€™s packed so full of little nods and references to the original without ever forcing them, as remakes and reboots so often do. Shots like the one above make me believe that Raimi might actually be pushing a worthwhile remake. Not one made to line a pocket or two (although if my predictions are correct it€™ll do that to), but one made because it should be remade, because it deserves another moment in the sun.
