For Topher Grace's Eddie Brock, he found out that Peter Parker is Spider-Man as soon as he bonded with the alien symbiote which turned him into Venom.

With the symbiote jilted by Parker, and Brock with a grudge against Spider-Man, these two made for the perfect combination - even if this version of Venom was infamously lambasted by the vast majority of audiences.

14. Spider-Man 3 - Flint Marko

While Venom was a little all over the shop in Spider-Man 3, Thomas Haden Church's Flint Marko, aka Sandman, was slightly better received by the masses due to his more solid similarities to his comic book counterpart.

One thing that did mildly irk some, mind, was how Sandman was portrayed as a sympathetic villain who was a good man carrying out crimes in order to care for his daughter. And it was that backstory that Marko explained to Peter Parker once Peter revealed his identity shortly after defeating Venom at the close of Spider-Man 3 - before Parker then forgave Flint for Uncle Ben's death and let him go free.
