Exclusive Clip: James Erskine's FROM THE ASHES Documentary, Narrated By Tom Hardy!

Finally, British filmmakers are understanding just what it takes to make fine and meaningful sporting documentaries of the nation's two favourite sports (sorry Rugby) as James Erskine follows-up his excellent One Night In Turin documentary (the definite account of England's 1990 World Cup) with From The Ashes - the re-telling of the England vs. Australia 1981 clash where Ian Botham became a hero. OWF have been granted an exclusive sneak peak at the documentary below and once again Erskine looks to have blended the sporting drama with footage that contextualises the story into it's political and social background. This is where Erskine's docs really excel. It's not just about what happened on the field but it's what it meant to the fans, scratch that, the whole British nation as a whole who took to these sporting icons during some rocky times. The tagline tells you all you need to know... "In A Time of Crisis... A Nation Needs A Hero". The clips is below, narrated no less by Tom Hardy, who should from here on in narrate all docs; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxYAWgBdH7Q From The Ashes is out in U.K. cinema's for one special night only with a premiere at the Curzon in Mayfair where a Q & A with Sir. Ian Botham will be chaired by Alistair Campbell. This live Q & A is being screened across 120 cinemas nationwide before a DVD release is due on May 30th.
