7. Getting Straight Into It

In spite of the script's flaws, you gotta hand it to Joe Russo for wasting absolutely no time throwing us right into the action.

Oh sure, about two minutes after the intense teaser, it resets and we're back to two days earlier to watch the story unfold from the beginning, but even then, it unfolds pretty quickly. And that ensures that the film's pacing remains one of its strongest attributes.

For all its faults, Extraction never drags; instead, it rolls along nicely, throwing obstacle after obstacle in the way of Tyler and Ovi as they attempt to make it out of Dhaka. And that makes it a consistently intense watch.
