Fantastic Beasts: 10 Actors Who Could Replace Fired Johnny Depp

2. Christian Bale

Gellert Grindelwald
Warner Bros.

While Christian Bale has mostly avoided big budget blockbusters since his time as Batman in The Dark Knight Trilogy reached its end, the fact he starts shooting Thor: Love and Thunder early next year proves the notoriously picky actor won't say no to the right project.

With that in mind, it's easy to picture him boarding the Fantastic Beasts franchise if there's a way to make it work. Just like Johnny Depp brought a sense of madness to the role, so too could Bale. The likes of American Psycho and The Fighter have proved that, and it would be a blast seeing the sort of weird and wacky performance the actor could bring to this series.

The problem with Depp at this point in his career is that it feels like he's just playing different versions of the same character, but Bale is someone who constantly reinvents himself.

Because of that, it's easy to picture the former Dark Knight offering a fresh, weird new take on Grindelwald, while also bringing even more star power to the Fantastic Beasts movies.
