4. The Old Crew Might Be Shuffled To The Side…
Here's some good news for anyone who isn't a huge fan of Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander: he won't be the protagonist of every Fantastic Beasts film. “I don’t think [Newt will be at] the heart of all of them,” producer David Heyman told CinemaBlend, before explaining that Redmayne's magizoologist and his chums Tina, Queenie and Jacob "will be a part of the next one" but not necessarily the main event.
It sounds like Newt and his pals may shift into supporting roles as the series goes on, with the conflict between more powerful wizards gradually moving into centre stage. Newt is not a Potter-esque chosen one, he's just a guy that really loves weird animals. How helpful could he really be when Dumbledore is fighting Grindelwald in the wizarding equivalent of World War II?
Given that the franchise seems sure to get darker as it goes on, perhaps Newt and his gang will become the comedic background characters who keep getting into wacky scrapes as the world goes to hell, offering something lighter for the younger viewers to enjoy.
