3. Grindelwald Is Truly Incredible

There will inevitably always be complaints about Johnny Depp's casting as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts movies because of his personal life and revelations about his relationship with Amber Heard, but it's hard to argue that the character isn't coming across very well in the marketing.

With the franchise already somewhat over-shadowed by the excellence of Ralph Fiennes' Voldemort, it needed a towering villain. Grindelwald arguably has to be more darkly charismatic than Voldemort; more terrifying; more appealing to followers and more deeply unnerving. And for all of his issues, Depp does deliver on all of those fronts.

He seems a lot more restrained than he has done more recently and he certainly looks the part - it seems we might have the right villain for the movie, even as there are suggestions we don't have the right actor.
