Fantastic Beasts: 21 WTF Moments

9. Door Spells Don't Work

Fantastic Beasts WTF
Warner Bros. Pictures

In the Wizarding World, magical rules are subject to change seemingly at the drop of a hat when the plot requires it. So, areas of magical importance or which should be scrupulously defended aren't protected in any way by spells, and some spells don't work as they always have (see the upcoming obliviate section)...

The worst of this comes when Queenie attempts to break into one of the Magical Congress offices in her and Kowalski's attempt to save Newt and Tina from extermination. She uses the age-old Alohamora spell to beat the lock, but unsurprisingly is thwarted by a charm protecting forced entry.

It should come as a surprise to everyone watching at that point that Kowalski is simply able to kick the door down, rendering all magic absolutely pointless in the process to make him look a bit good.
