Fantastic Beasts: 21 WTF Moments
6. Congress Has No Security
One of the more annoying niggles in the Harry Potter movies comes with the revelation in The Deathly Hallows that nowhere in the magical world really has any security protecting them against charms designed to deceive to gain access. It's basically like having no password protection on your account, and allowing anyone access, particularly since spells like Confundus and the Imperius Curse exist. And you know, since anyone with the right materials can make Polyjuice Potion.
The same lax security is on show at Magical Congress too, where Graves is able to rise to a lofty position despite being a magical disguise.
And this is despite the fact that a simple Revellio reveals his true nature. Why is that not a defensive charm cast over all magical institutions?! It seems like a fairly major oversight, when the magic definitely exists. It's not like they shouldn't be EXPECTING threats when Grindelwald's activity has put their magical warning level at Orange.
