3. The Wizarding War
One of the things the movie does really well is balancing its more lighthearted tone with the backdrop of the growing threat in the Wizarding World.
It's referenced numerous times that Grindelwald has been gaining influence throughout across the globe, and while we don't dive too much into this, it sets the stage for escalating conflict. We know he has loyal followers, a catchy slogan - "for the greater good" - and immense power, and that there is a Global Wizarding War that starts during this time and builds towards 1945.
That means the movie's are likely to mirror the Potter ones, in that they get darker as they go along, and the war continues to build. By around the third and fourth movies the conflict is likely to be in full swing with Grindelwald's Uprising, and the fact it's ending in 1945 means one thing: the fifth film will almost certainly be the famous duel between Grindelwald and Dumbledore.
