1. Johnny Depp Genuinely Looks Amazing

Obviously there are some issues around Johnny Depp's continued association with the Fantastic Beasts franchise (particularly when another major studio just sacked someone for JOKING about abuse and he's outright accused of doing it), but you have to hand it to him and his director: he's certainly living up to the billing as Grindelwald.

When you're faced with somehow outdoing a villain as instantly memorable as Ralph Fiennes' Voldemort, you know you're going to have to pull something serious out of the bag. But the framing of Depp's monster and the subtle, elegant brilliance of his stone-cold blue eye really gets him there.

He looks and feels like a true threat to the Wizarding World and there's something that feels... well, just RIGHT about Depp's performance. He's almost serpentine without being obvious and gets under your skin like a bad itch and this is absolutely what we ought to be looking for from the character.
