Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald Final Trailer Reaction: 8 Ups & 2 Downs

Ups

8. It LOOKS Very Wizarding World

Obviously, there are lots more pointers in here that this film is tied closer to the Harry Potter films than the first Fantastic Beasts. We actually get to see Hogwarts (inside and out), there are characters from that franchise (Dumbledore obviously but also Nicholas Flamel), but it's more than just that. This trailer makes The Crimes Of Grindelwald LOOK like a Harry Potter movie, appealing to fans on a more intangible level.

Aesthetically speaking, the colour palette is perfectly pitched (it's like looking at two paintings by the same artist at different points in their career), the shot composition (particularly in things like the approach to Hogwarts) is perfect too and it all has the very familiar feel of the Wizarding World.

That might seem like a simple thing to say, but for Fantastic Beasts to make anywhere near a billion dollars (which it absolutely SHOULD, by rights), it's a very key objective to hit.
