Fantastic Four: 8 Reasons You Shouldn't Write It Off Just Yet

1. The Cast Is Pretty Fantastic

If nothing else, Trank has assembled a great cast for Fantastic Four. Miles Teller proved how good he was in Whiplash, and he seems to have the right mix of geeky and cocky as Reed Richards. Kate Mara got to show off her acting chops in House Of Cards. There were some (unfortunate) complaints about Michael B. Jordan€™s casting as The Human Torch because of his race, but ignoring such nonsense he was terrific in both Fruitvale Station and Chronicle. Jamie Bell seems like an odd choice for The Thing, but as it€™s going to be a motion capture performance his transformation into a huge rock monster will be more affecting than if he was just working a costume. Toby Kebbell is an inspired choice for Dr. Doom as he€™s been quietly stealing movies for years, and the supporting cast has awesome character actors like Tim Blake Nelson and Reg E. Cathey classing it up. It€™s a cast that€™s full of promising up and comers and acclaimed vets, who are going to bring something interesting to their roles instead of just delivering what€™s expected. Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
