Fantastic Four Reboot: 10 Actors Who Could Play Doctor Doom

5. Benedict Cumberbatch

Ol' Benedict Cumberbatch, with his name like a discarded Beatles song, has played a bunch of villains in recent times - so much so, in fact, that having him as Doctor Doom also might seem like something akin to overkill. Still, it's difficult to pretend that he doesn't seem a sort of perfect for this character - especially since his roles almost always ooze charm, sophistication, and intelligence, whilst also managing to make him come across like a bit of a d*ck. The big question, of course: would it be all that exciting given that he's just come off of playing one infamous villain Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness and another - the dragon, Smaug - in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit? It's true that the announcement of him as yet another major bad guy would be lessened by that notion, but there's something about this guy that genuinely screams Doctor Doom. Hey, whilst they're changing everything else, maybe they can make Doom, uh, British?
