Fantastic Four Reboot: 10 Ways To Guarantee It Won't Suck

10. Get A Better Director

For whatever reason, 20th Century Fox has decided that the best person to direct a multi-million dollar reboot of a big franchise is a director best known for a film with a supervillain inspired teenager. Whilst Chronicle was a fairly decent film, it wouldn't inspire me with confidence if I was looking to pick someone to direct as huge a film, particularly with no other major credits to his name. That's not to say that Trank is a bad director; he's just perhaps not the best option at this stage of his career. There are undoubtedly better options and safer hands to guide a tricky film - which will come saddled with enormous expectations - and Trank could be better suited to a sequel. Personally, given his passion, I would've absolutely loved to see this film directed by Kevin Smith. He's a big fan of the comics and genuinely knows the story, and crucially he works best with an ensemble cast, which is exactly what the Fantastic Four is. Smith also has an undeniable rapport with his fans, many of whom would've headed out to see the film regardless of its subject matter. Plus, anyone who's heard his story for his failed Batman movie knows that he has a great brain when it comes to comic book movies.
