Fantastic Four Reboot: 10 Ways To Guarantee It Won't Suck

9. Don't Make It An Origin Story

Despite the fact that this is perhaps a crushing inevitability, we just don't need yet another origin story. Everyone knows the story behind the team by now, and if they don't, they perhaps aren't likely to be considered core demographic anyway. We've already seen two origins for Batman, Superman and Spider-Man (and not to mention all of the Avengers) and you have to suspect that continually following the same track will lead to diminished returns sooner or later. If they're hellbent on giving us an origin, Fox should make it a 5 minute recap at the beginning of the film, and not the entire first two acts, which is where almost every reboot is going wrong. Sure, some franchises need it, especially if there's been no other content featuring the subject of the film, but if there's already been films, it's really unnecessary. Instead, what we want is the team working together as we know them in the comics, none of the "let's get the band together" stuff. We want to be thrown straight into the action, introduced to a team already comfortable with their powers, and balance the story the same way the first Thor film did. Is that too much to ask?
