2. The Franchise Makes Lots Of Money (Internationally)

fast-and-furious-6-poster I've insinuated this one a few times already but now I'm just gonna come right out and say it... these movies have made an assload of cash. Like, literally, someone at Universal has an ass filled to the brim with sheckles right now and they have this franchise to thank for it. Over $1 billion in ticket sales, to be exact, pushed up to $3 billion after adding home media. With the exception of Tokyo Drift, each of these movies have made more money at the box office than the previous installment. Also, starting with Tokyo Drift each movie has made more money in ticket sales abroad than domestically. Wrap your head around that one. We tend to think of F/F as intrinsically American but the world at large seems to have embraced the series just as lovingly as my fellow Yankees. Moreso, in fact. Why, you ask?
