After Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) surprisingly survived the events of Furious 7, it was a given that he'd return for the next movie, but what's truly shocking is that he appears to be joining Dom's team this time around.

A video diary from the first day of shooting shows Statham hanging out with Dom and his team in their base, which basically confirms that Shaw has joined the gang to help take down the new villain, Cipher.

Expect the relationship to be nothing if not uneasy (considering, you now, Shaw killed Han and all), but this should make for some compelling drama amid all the vehicular mayhem.
