Fast & Furious 8: 23 WTF Moments In The Fate Of The Furious
21. 240 MPH
If you're driving at 240mph, you should win a race, but that wouldn't be any good for the drama of the opening race. Also at 240mph a rust-bucket car would fall apart. Also at 240mph, if you jumped from said vehicle while it's on fire, you would break every bone in your body.
You'd also struggle to brake (even in a great-spec car) and certainly wouldn't manage a stopping distance of mere inches. And yet, all of these crimes occur in the opening race between Dom and Celestino Cornielle's Raldo. But who cares about science?
It happens again in the Berlin-set action set-piece after Dom has taken out Hobbs (with way too much malice, since he could legitimately have died) and drives at over 200 mph towards Cipher's plane, which drops its cargo bay to pick him up.
He somehow manages to get up the bank (not much longer than his car) at the speed necessary to keep up with a plane, and then stops in a screeching halt. Physics be damned.
