Fast & Furious 8: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

3. Luke Hobbs

The Rock Hobbs
Universal Pictures

His relationship with his daughter might not play particularly well, but The Rock's former US Agent Luke Hobbs is still one of this franchise's most exciting characters - particularly in terms of him becoming the centre of a spin-off series.

He comes ready packaged with The Rock's irresistible screen charisma and presence - as well as his cartoonish size - and his strict moral code works well in conflict with the rest of the team's more criminal background. He's also a good foil for Dom, Deckard Shaw and the goofballs in the group, as well as the stoic influence of Little Nobody.

He's not the best driver, or the most likely to do stunts behind the wheel (not least because he tends to drive the biggest vehicles), but his hand-to-hand combat can be relied on for heavy-hitting set-pieces and his prison break is one of the stand-outs in the film.

If he doesn't get a spin-off there will be something very wrong.
